Details

Third-year Bachelor students in the Finance–Accounting and Business Administration programs at the University College of Business (UCB), accompanied by lecturers Shpëtim Cami and Ledia Sula, carried out a study visit to the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination in Tirana.

The activity was organized within the framework of the course “Business Ethics” and aimed to provide students with first-hand insight into the institution’s activities, as well as into Law No. 10221, dated 04.02.2010 “On Protection from Discrimination” (as amended by Law No. 124/2020).

The Commissioner, Mr. Robert Gajda, shared informational materials with the students and engaged in discussion on:

  • forms and cases of discrimination,
  • legal mechanisms for addressing them,
  • the role of the institution in protecting individual rights in employment, education, and services.

The discussion offered a concrete integration of theory with institutional practice, highlighting the importance of ethics in business and the handling of discriminatory behavior by state institutions.

Special attention was also given to the alignment of Albanian legislation with European Union standards within the framework of Albania’s EU integration process.

The activity was characterized by strong interest and a high number of questions from students, reflecting engagement and critical thinking.
