The goal of the GRADUA project is to create concrete synergies between the University and the labor market by providing a unified instrument available to both beneficiaries for evaluating graduates, educational system performances and providing innovative recruitment tools. This unified tool consists of an innovative IT platform, which will track graduates and their employment in support of higher education policy-making and reform. The platform is an integrated and certified supply/demand matching model based on the online database of Albanian graduates. GRADUA is financed within the Erasmus + program, and is coordinated by the Agricultural University of Tirana. The project started in 2017 and has a duration of 3 years.
The year 2021 also marked the year of completion of this project, where in September 2021 the last closing conference was organized with its results as well as the role that the partners will continue to have in the application of the GRADUA platform.
Multidimensional Study and Assessment of Fuel Cell Energy Systems in Seaports and Airports: Promoting Green Tourism (EkoALport)
The energy demand in Albania is expected to increase by 77% by 2030, highlighting the dependence on energy imports and high energy intensity. Demand increases during the summer due to higher temperatures and tourism, highlighting the instability of hydroelectric power. Strategic facilities such as ports and airports will face challenges in managing energy demands, requiring efficiency and environmental sustainability. The European Commission recognizes fuel cell technologies as strategic for the decarbonization of the energy and transport sectors by 2030. However, studies on the application of these technologies in Albania are lacking.
EkoALport is a project coordinated by the University College of Business, funded by the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation (AKKSHI) within the framework of Technology and Innovation Winning Projects, which come as a collaboration of universities with business, industry and institutions. The project has a duration of 9 months (July 2024 – April 2025) and focuses on the fields of water and energy. The partner in this project is the Durrës Port Authority.
The main goal of the EkoALport project is to study and evaluate the feasibility, efficiency, benefits and barriers of implementing fuel cell microgrids in elite passenger transport centers in Albania. The project focuses on using these technological solutions to promote sustainable tourist facilities in the seaports of Durrës, Vlorë and Saranda, as well as at Tirana Airport.
The specific objectives are:
The expected results of EkoALport include a market analysis on fuel cells, assessing their efficiency, scalability and suitability in local conditions for decision-making and planning. A cost-benefit analysis, environmental impact and employment opportunities will be provided.
The project aims to collaborate with authorities, industry and local communities, creating a roadmap for the deployment of this technology. It will also promote the exchange of knowledge on its applications in sustainable tourism.
ALORG is a project coordinated by the University College of Business, funded by the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation (AKKSHI) within the framework of the Winning Projects of the Research and Development Program Projects (PKKZH). The project has a duration of 9 months (September 2024 – May 2025) and focuses on the field of organic agriculture.
The overall goal of this study is to provide an overview of the organic value chain in Albania by analyzing recent developments and the current situation, and including opportunities, constraints and difficulties, with a special focus on investment needs/potentials.
More specifically, the study will:
Project Beneficiaries
The study of organic agriculture provides benefits to financial institutions, farmers, the food industry, traders, and government, helping them develop products and policies that support the sector. It helps increase the consumption of organic products and improve access to markets. The benefits also extend to local communities, rural tourism, public health and the environment, promoting sustainability and reducing negative environmental impacts.

Kolegji Universtar i Biznesit është partner i konsorciumit të 13 partnerëve Fitues të Projektit të Përbashkët “Educational Capacity Strengthening for Risk Management of Non-native Aquatic Species in Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro) / RiskMan”.
