On March 19, in the premises of Building A, the presentation of the next Robotics project was held , which aims to strengthen the connection between practical and theoretical skills among engineering students .
Below is a summary of the presentation made by student Arlind Shkreli .
“In the near future, a home without a smart home system will be as unimaginable as a home without internet access today.”
- Bill Gates
Why Smart Home? Smart Home systems are revolutionizing the way we live, integrating technology into our daily lives. This project offers: - Home automation and management through IoT.
- Development of technical and engineering skills.
- Preparation for the labor market.
- Integration of different technologies and stimulation of creativity.
Project Objectives The goal of Smart Home is to create a safe, comfortable and automated environment. The technologies used enable: - Opening the door with RFID.
- Gas and smoke detection for added safety.
- Automatic closing of windows when it rains.
- Control of electrical appliances through a mobile application.
Main Functions
- Using RFID for Door Opening: The use of RFID technology allows the door to open automatically when an authorized card or chip is detected.
- Gas and Smoke Detection Alarm: An alarm system that warns of danger when the presence of gas or smoke is detected in the kitchen.
- Automatic Window Closing When It Rains: The rain sensor sends signals to automatically close the windows, protecting the interior environment.
- Mobile App Control: Devices such as lights, fans, and air conditioners can be controlled from a mobile phone through a dedicated app.
Main Components The project uses components such as:
- ESP32 PLUS Development Board
- RFID Modules
- Analog Gas Sensor
- Servo Motor, Bluetooth Module, and many more
Arduino programming plays an important role in this project, using the C++ language to create sketches that control the microcontroller. This programming enables the control of devices and increases the efficiency of the system.
Main Benefits - High automation and security.
- Development of professional and technical skills.
- Integration with other IoT systems.
- Improving project management and collaboration skills.
Conclusion Smart Home is not just a concept of the future – it is a reality that is taking shape today. By integrating technology into our daily lives, we not only improve comfort and security, but also open the doors to a smarter and technologically independent future.
