Meeting with General Gëzim Ostreni, Former Chief of Staff of the National Liberation Army during the 2001 Conflict in North Macedonia

General Gëzim Ostreni was the guest today, holding an open discussion with students and staff of the University College of Business. Prof. Sakip Cami, a researcher and expert on General Ostreni’s work, was also in attendance.

General Ostreni is a significant figure in the history and struggle for Albanian rights in North Macedonia. A documentary was shown, highlighting the efforts and sacrifices of Albanians in their fight for their rights.

Participants also had the opportunity to explore his book, “National Liberation Army: Causes, War, and Peace in Macedonia in 2001,” which includes documented events and personal experiences.

General Ostreni’s message continues to advocate for respect for Albanian rights, setting an example of local leaders’ dedication to sustainable peace, aligned with international norms and social justice.
