Meeting of the General Assembly of the “Gjon Durraku” University League Association

At the premises of the University College of Business, the latest meeting of the General Assembly of the “Gjon Durraku” University League Association was held.

The meeting was opened by Prof. Dr. Ethem Ruka, Chairman of the League’s Board of Directors and Rector of “Luarasi” University. During the session, important topics were addressed concerning the functioning and mission of universities in the context of current challenges and reforms in higher education.

The main topics discussed included:

• Report on the League’s activities for the academic year 2024–2025;
• Effects of the recent changes in Decision of the Council of Ministers (DCM) on higher education, especially regarding the attraction of foreign students;
• Concrete steps for establishing and initiating the work of the League’s joint committees;
• Discussion on the ranking process of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs);
• Review of several organizational proposals and new collaborations, including with the Inter-Institutional Center of the Albanian Academic Network (RASH).
• This meeting once again confirmed the will and commitment of the member universities to work together towards improving academic quality, fostering internationalization, and ensuring the dignified representation of Albanian higher education.

The Assembly was warmly welcomed by the Rector of the University College of Business, Prof. Dr. Ylber Bezo, who provided all the necessary conditions for the smooth running of the meeting.
