The University College of Business (UCB) was pleased to be represented at the international event “Summer School 2026 – Blended Intensive Program (BIP)”, organized by the Baltic International Academy in Riga, Latvia, on June 19, 2026.
As part of this program, Dr. Irsida Dinoshi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences at the University College of Business, delivered an open lecture entitled:
“Building Trust in Sustainability: ESG, Risk and Assurance”
How ESG principles, risk management, and assurance mechanisms build trust and drive sustainable business transformation.
The lecture focused on the increasingly important role of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices in promoting sustainable development and transforming business models toward a more responsible and long-term approach.
During her presentation, Dr. Dinoshi addressed several key topics, including:
The importance of corporate investment in ESG practices;
The identification and assessment of risks associated with investments and sustainability strategies;
Assurance mechanisms and sustainability reporting within the ESG reporting framework;
The relationship between ESG practices and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
The importance of non-financial performance reporting as an essential instrument for the effective implementation of ESG standards.
A significant part of the lecture was dedicated to presenting case studies from Albania and the Western Balkans, highlighting the positive impacts of implementing ESG principles in the business sector and promoting sustainable development.
The event concluded with an open and interactive discussion with participants, featuring a comparative analysis of progress achieved in the field of ESG and sustainability reporting in Albania and Latvia. The discussion encouraged the exchange of experiences and best practices among academic institutions and professionals in the field.
Dr. Irsida Dinoshi’s participation in this international program represents another example of the University College of Business’s commitment to the internationalization of academic activities, the promotion of scientific research, and active engagement in contemporary discussions on sustainability, corporate governance, and responsible business development.
