This study investigates the intersection of FinTech and the Green Economy in Albania,
specifically how technology investments impact sustainable economic development. By
examining the strengths and weaknesses of the Albanian financial sector, the paper aims
to identify development and growth opportunities. A comprehensive literature review is the
foundation of the present state of FinTech and Green Finance in Albania. An econometric
study using secondary data enables the examination of the link between technology
investment and other macroeconomic factors, i.e., GDP growth, employment levels, and the
environment.
The findings of the research provide insightful views on the potential of FinTech to
accelerate the transition to a greener and more sustainable economy in Albania. The
research highlights the importance of the findings to policymakers, financial institutions,
and FinTech businesses seeking to promote sustainable economic development. By
exploring the intersection of FinTech and the Green Economy, this research adds to the
body of literature on sustainable finance and economic growth. The findings of the research
are likely to inform the uptake of FinTech and green economic development in Albania.
